Homelessness Prevention Program
We work to find temporary housing for our displaced clients and their families. This housing may be in the form of low cost hotels and apartments.
Helping our clients who own their homes stay in their homes by assisting with critical indoor and outdoor repairs.
Items are donated by individuals and organizations so our clients and their children can “shop” at no charge. Parents can come while their child is in school to pick out a toy, or a small gift so their child is prepared to give something to other people in their lives such as their teachers or a grandparent.
Collection of new or like new items begins in October. Typical items include photo frames, candles, bath products and Christmas décor (we do not accept clothing.) We also receive toy donations from a local toy store, The Learning Express at Providence Town center.
The “Shop” is open to our clients from November to Christmas week.
Summer Camp Scholarship Fund
We are seeking donations to this fund to help our clients pay for some summer camp activities for their children. Our agency's children need productive things to do during the summer ad many times what stops them is finances. Contact us with questions.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 for next Summer.
Make checks payable to Women's Bridge Resource Center and mark it for Summer Camp Fund. All donations are tax deductible and your will receive a tax receipt from our agency.
Christmas Stocking Project
Clients fill out a Wish List for themselves and their children. WBRC uses the Wish List to make a paper stocking ornament for each person, which is then hung on our Christmas tree here. Various organizations, churches and individuals come and select paper stockings and purchase the gifts, wrap them, and attach the paper stocking with the client"s name. They are then given to the clients. Sometimes these are the only gifts they receive; it helps make their Holidays brighter.
Two local churches, Norriton Presbyterian Church and Trinity Lutheran Church of Fairview Village, partner in mid-summer to fill backpacks for the children of our clients before the beginning of the school year. This project services children in Kindergarten through 12th grade.
